Banksman Training Course

COURSE OVERVIEW
This course is aimed at all workers assigned in traffic control activities and
guiding heavy vehicles at their workplace and along any roadworks, providing individuals
with the knowledge and skills to prepare and enable them to understand the
requirements on how to control, guide and manage road traffic safely.
At the end of the course, the participants will learn proper management for traffic
control, road safety and be fully conversant with safe methods of placing, operating,
maintaining and removing devices on the road, ensuring workplace and public safety is
not compromise.

Who should attend this course?

Our Banksman Training course is aimed at anyone who’ll be fulfilling the role of a banksman for work activities involving vehicles and mobile plant.The course will help the learner understand what their role entails, including how to effectively and safely guide drivers and operators during manoeuvres using a signalling system.

Course Content

 The Code of Practice of Traffic Control at Work Zone
 Relevant Act and Regulations
 Banksman (Flagger)
 Safety of Workers, Workplace and Public
 Traffic Control Devices and their uses
 Procedures of road closure and traffic control
 Manual Operated Stop / Go Sign Operating Procedure

Assume Skills and Knowledge

No previous training is required before undertaking this course, but it is not a replacement for practical training, which is required beyond the course. Practical training is vital for a banksman to be fully competent to fulfil their role in the specific work environment and for the work activities they’re involved in. The course can, however, act as a refresher for those who have already received practical training.
